In this early MFA project, I wanted to explore many areas of design in one project (branding, illustration, package design, and web design) and to support young women activists.
Teens and tweens today are more concerned about world events than ever before. They are using their skills to solve problems, help others, and demand change. What can we do as parents to encourage this initiative—to get our daughters out there leading the way? How can we empower young women to make a difference in the world?
Bravebirds is a monthly subscription box focused on girls making the world a better place. Each box features six items to help subscribers learn about that month’s theme—trading cards featuring girls that have changed the world, an inspirational poster, suggested projects to complete at home, a wearable item, stickers, and a surprise item related to the theme. Plus, a portion of the monthly subscription fee is donated to an organization that supports that month’s theme.
For just $29.99 per box, you will see your teen or tween develop a passion and grow as an individual while making a change in the world. Subscribers will learn about activism topics such as the climate crisis, gun control, immigration, racial justice, gender equality, and LGBTQ rights. Bravebirds is also a free information resource for educators and a link to non-profit organizations that are impacting the world in a positive way.
Bravebirds’ main goal is to empower young women to be leaders and activists, to fight for the things they believe in, and to make the world a better place.
